Bodini Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, 2014
A wine that is supposed to be consumed fresh, the 2014 Malbec is sourced from different zones across Mendoza, and is not pure Malbec, as in reality it contains 10% Bonarda. It's a slightly leafy, fruit-driven red with very pleasant notes of spices and a juicy palate with unnoticeable tannins, good acidity and freshness. It has a clear grapy character, very little about the oak. Something you might actually want to buy by the case. Good value. 180,000 bottles

Weingut Hiedler Loss Gruner Veltliner, Kamptal, Austria, 2012
Brightly juicy and tinged with pip and pit bitterness, the Hiedler 2012 Gruner Veltliner Loess even suggests a hint of green apple despite its presumed analytical absence of malic acid. Pungent herbs and incisive cress lend invigoration to the pointed and refreshing finish of a wine that comes off rather like a hybrid Riesling-Gruner Veltliner, and which I would drink for its pep and cut within the next couple of years. Even here, though, there is a pleasant suggestion of estate-typical glossiness of texture

La Clarine Farm Albarino, Sierra Foothills, California, 2014
Wonderfully fresh and floral in aroma, and clean and crisp in the finish, this is a 100% Albariño. Sourced from a steep hillside vineyard on limestone, a rarity in the our parts of the Sierra Foothills. This was our first pick of the 2014 vintage, on August 15th. The fruit was lightly foot crushed and whole-cluster pressed gently into tanks. Ambient yeasts set to work very quickly (a hallmark of 2014 for us), and the wine was dry within 14 days. Malolactic fermentation completed spontaneously shortly thereafter. The wine was aged 7 months on its lees. A light sulfite addition was made when the wine was racked just before bottling. Unfined and unfiltered, of course! We are very happy with the way this wine has evolved. It has enough minerality to work with a variety of foods, and yet is light enough to drink on its own, as an aperitif. Enjoy now and throughout the summer

Idlewild Fox Hill Vineyard Barbera, Sonoma County, USA, 2013
Barbera is all acid and no tannin... literally, there is next to no tannin in the skins. With this in mind, we used whole clusters to help balance the lively acidity and to add a spicy dimension to the wine. This created a contrast of freshness and hardiness that is enticing. The grapes were left as whole clusters, tread, and left to slowly ferment. Ten months elevage in neutral barrels gave time for integration and settling

Chateau de Cary Potet Aligote VV, Burgundy, France, 2012
Old vine Aligoté is so much more fragrant than its early ripening cousins that leave people wondering what the fuss is all about or daresay making Kir cocktails with crème de cassis. Not with this wine! Cary Potet's Vieilles Vignes Aligoté is textural, expressive and has an electric presence on a palate of orchard fruits and lemon rinds. From Montagny, which is at the southernmost tip of the Cote Challonaise which itself lies between the Cote d'Or and the Macon, Chateau de Cary Potet is one of the oldest domaines in the Cote Challonaise. Wine growing here for over 200 years with cellars beneath the Chateau dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, the Potet legacy lives on in this exceptional Aligoté whose vines were planted during the Great Depression and whose wine is widely held (for good reason as you can taste) among the very best Aligoté in all of Burgundy despite its modest price

Weingut G.H. von Mumm 50 Parallel Riesling Trocken, Rheingau, Germany, 2011
G.H. von Mumm pays homage to the 50th Parallel North Superb Riesling cuvee created to celebrate the Rheingau a unique region. The Rheingau and its incomparably beautiful setting are a feast for the eyes and a paradise for the Riesling grape. Conditions here are optimal for enabling this most noble of all grape varieties to truly develop its potential: south-facing slopes that are protected from cold, northerly winds by the Taunus Hills; the influence of the mild Gulf Stream; the Rhine, which is at once a source of moisture and a heat reservoir; and a favourable soil composed of Taunus quartzite beneath a layer of loam-loess. All of these components fulfill the prerequisites needed to produce top-quality Riesling wines. The 50th degree of latitude runs right through the middle of this unique region, marking one of the northernmost borders of viable viticulture. In honour of this, the G.H. von Mumm wine estate has created a Riesling cuvee that embodies what one expects of a Rheingau Riesling: 50° Riesling

Channing Daughters Scuttlehole Chardonnay, The Hamptons Long Island, USA, 2013
We love Chardonnay! Often we crave a pure, clean style that celebrates the fruit of our region and is very versatile at the table. Our 2013 Scuttlehole Chardonnay certainly fits the bill. This is a captivating and salivatingly delicious 100% Chardonnay. This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with no malo-lactic fermentation resulting in a dry wine with flavors and aromas of minerals, apples, pears, citrus fruit and lemon curd. This fresh, unoaked wine is medium-bodied with balanced acidity and alcohol. The wine is wonderfully juicy with the textural interplay of both linearity and roundness that provides great pleasure and interest. There is a creaminess that is unmistakably Chardonnay. As always the fruit for this wine was hand-picked, whole cluster-pressed, handled minimally and bottled by gravity. The Chardonnay (from the classic Dijon clones) was harvested from vineyards on both the North and South forks, thus the Long Island AVA. Our Scuttlehole Chardonnay continues to be a favorite restaurant by the glass pour due to its unbelievable versatility in food pairing and our 2013 Scuttlehole Chardonnay continues the tradition of boundless pairing potential at the table. Comfortable with either complimentary or contrasting flavors, try this wine with crisp, briny shellfish or oily bluefish and wild salmon; fresh cheeses, a citrus roast chicken or a fresh salad with duck confit. Our Sylvanus vineyard Tocai was harvested by hand, whole-cluster pressed and fermented and raised in 47% stainless steel barrels and 53% older French puncheons for eleven and a half months. This white grape is native to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in Northeast Italy and our version offers wonderfully fresh aromas and flavors of minerals, citrus fruits, fresh green almonds, spice and a salty tang. The wine is bone dry and possesses medium body, moderate alcohol, juicy acidity and great persistence on the long flavorful finish. Our Tocai has a great mouthfeel and manages the very gratifying textural paradox of a light, fresh, aromatic wine with a weighty, fleshy, fluidity that is just delightful. Our 2012 Tocai Friulano Sylvanus vineyard was bottled by gravity on September 13th, 2013. This is the quintessential prosciutto wine and also works well with other salumi and fresh cheeses, fricos, pastas and risotto, clams and white fleshed fish dishes. We hope you enjoy this delicious and unique white wine. Beware of over chilling the wine and muting the aromatics and enjoy this wine during is vibrant youth over the next one to three years after release. 268 cases produced

Scholium Project Blowout Rose, 2014
The wine is about 65% Verdelho, and 20% each Sauvignon Blanc and Grüner Veltliner-- and about 4% Cinsault made as red wine. The Verdelho and Gruner were grown in the Lost Slough vineyard in the Sacramento River Delta; the SB from Farina in Sonoman; and the Cinsault from historic Bechtold in Lodi. We harvested and fermented the Verdelho and Gruner together, in sealed and refrigerated stainless steel tanks with lucky cat banners on them, and used lots of SO2 to inhibit malolactic fermentation. We made the other wines separately and composed the final blend only in February-- after the first, white, Blowout had instantly sold out. The wine is lightly stained by the Cinsault, a brilliant and luminous light pink

Springfield Estate Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon, Robertson, South Africa, 2012
In the time of our ancestors grapes were harvested by hand, carried to the cellar in baskets and placed uncrushed into open tanks to ferment with natural yeasts into wine. In making our Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon we re-enact this lost tradition. The red wine cellar has been carefully designed on a gravity flow system. There are no pumps or crushers, so that the journey of the grape into wine is undertaken in the traditional way. Whole Berry maceration is followed by fermentation with natural yeasts, racking and one year's maturation in oak barrels. The result is a velvety wine with softer tannins and classical varietal characteristics. This traditional wine is unfiltered and unfined, which may deposit a sediment and might require decanting

Andrew Will Cabernet Franc, Columbia Valley, USA, 2012
The fruit for this wine is from our own Two Blondes Vineyard. We use three clones of Cabernet Sauvignon at the vineyard which are included in this wine. Chris Camarda is a proponent of clonal variety and we have French, Washington and California Cabernet Sauvignon clones planted. The wine spent 12 months in 35% new French oak and is very lightly sulphured. The 2012 vintage marked a return to more historical averages in terms of temperature after two successive cool vintages in 2010 and 2011. A notable aspect to the growing season was a 100-day spell with no measurable precipitation from July through mid-October

The first taste is of mild fullness with an accompanying coffee tone, which becomes more dominant with the aftertaste. There is very little of the sweetness that is frequently to be tasted with doppelbock beer." The Ayinger Celebrator has been ranked among the best beers of the world by the Chicago Testing Institute several times and has won numerous platinum medals..

The slow barrel aging, in contact with both the oak and the natural charcoal, gives the brandy its golden color and smooth, elegant flavor. For the Korbel 12, we use exclusively older barrels; that have given up even the slightest hint of any excessively woody flavors.
